Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information askraywhitlock.com collects and how it's handled. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Questions you send: your question, email address, topic, and your first name and city if you choose to give them.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address.
- Basic site analytics: aggregated, cookie-free page statistics from our hosting provider. We don't run advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To read and answer questions. If we publish your question, we show only the first name and city you gave, or "Anonymous". Your email is never published.
- To tell you when your question has been answered.
- To send The Whitlock Memo if you subscribed. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
We don't sell or rent your information. We use a small number of service providers (website hosting, form handling and email delivery) to run the site, and they may store data outside Australia.
Keep it general
Please don't send personal financial details, account numbers or anything sensitive in your question. We can't help with your own situation and will delete that information.
Access, correction and deletion
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email privacy@askraywhitlock.com. If you're not happy with how we handle a request, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
